A bit about Electrolysis with Cathy.

A brief history

Cathy has had an interesting career mostly as a Senior Community Nurse in the NHS. Her work and interests were in mainly in pain control, palliative care, and psychological aspects of care. Earlier in her Nursing career, she was an Anaesthetic Nurse working in the operating theatres.

She has also worked in the technology industry for several years as a Trainer.

In 2020, Cathy set up the "Electrolysis with Cathy" clinic in the village of Anstey, Leicestershire.

Cathy was trained at the renowned Sterex Training Academy, and has gained the internationally recognised VTCT qualification in electro-epilation.

In order to help transgender clients Cathy has completed the transgender course. She is qualified to assist those preparing for surgery, and also remove facial hair. "Electrolysis with Cathy" is the only electrolysis provider in Leicestershire, who in addition to hair removal, actively specialises in transgender electrolysis.

Cathy is qualified for Advanced Electrolysis which enables her to treat a variety of skin blemishes (click here for more details).

All people are welcome for treatment with Cathy regardless of age, race, or gender. If you are under 18, you will need to attend with a parent or legal guardian. The Clinic does have a zero tolerance though for abusive language and behaviour.

All treatments are chargeable, and the Clinic is an approved contractor for the NHS. This means for some treatments, the NHS pay for the treatment cost.

The Location

The "Electrolysis by Cathy" Clinic is found in the village of Anstey in north-west Leicestershire. It is just off the A46, and many people vaguely know the area partly because of the Bradgate Country Park.

There is ample parking space on the drive so you don't have to have any anxiety over where to park. Just park in front of the red garage door.

If you are arriving by bus, two bus services come into the village. The 74 and also the 154 should get you to me from Leicester, and there are stops conveniently outside the clinic.

The Clinic Room

The aim is to offer a professional, clincal, but people friendly treatment space.  There are aftercare products available for purchase, which will help promote the wellbeing of the treated skin.

Equipment

The clinic has a state of the art computerised electrolysis machine to help reduce any discomfort you may feel. Additionally, Cathy can advise on other options for maintaining your comfort  too.

To ensure the instruments are sterile, Cathy uses an autoclave that meets medical and dental standards. It is manufactured in Switzerland and offers an efficient, quick sterilisation and is incredibly quiet.

The probes are a high quality and are pre-sterilised by the manufacturer. For infection control they are single use only.
